What We Offer
Finance, Operations and Administration (FOA) offers current students paid internships supporting the Vice Chancellor’s Office and other units serving the UC Davis community. Interns gain experience in a dynamic work environment, working alongside staff and executive-level leaders on key campus initiatives, departments and programs.
Students are encouraged to apply to intern for Budget and Institutional Analysis (BIA), FOA Communications or the FOA Vice Chancellor’s Office.

- UC Davis sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students may apply.
- Student must be in good academic standing, making progress toward a degree during time of internship.
- All fields of study are welcome to apply.

Budget and Institutional Analysis
Budget and Institutional Analysis (BIA) uses data to guide leadership in resource management, policy analysis and budgeting. BIA oversees reporting, allocations, campus rates and staff development to ensure the university is on track to meeting its mission and strategic goals.
Students interns work on key campus initiatives by independently researching, analyzing and formulating recommendations to improve campus services and operations.

FOA Communications
FOA Communications drives strategic marketing and communications for the operating units of FOA, enhancing service awareness, employee engagement and reputation while prioritizing division-wide communication needs.
Two types of internships are available in FOA Communications: Communications and Marketing Intern and Multimedia Design Intern. Communications and marketing interns assist with researching, writing, editing and publishing content. Interns typically build a portfolio of professional writing samples throughout the course of their employment. Design interns assist with creating posters, videos, photos and infographics. Interns have the opportunity to build a professional portfolio that supports future career aspirations.

FOA Vice Chancellor's Office
The Vice Chancellor’s Office is the central location for Finance, Operations and Administration, providing organizational leadership and stewardship of campus resources that support research, teaching, and student and community activities.
Student interns provide onsite general office support for various projects and activities. Interns work directly with staff and executive-level leaders and are the first point of contact in the office.
